The light is very well built. It runs on a larger heavier battery. I Like the spot and dimmer switch. The only problem i have is on the mini spectrum you have very little room to work with on the scope. I like bolt guns not a ar fan. Can't get it quite low enough to be able to use the spot light and work controls on top of scope. Scope turrents in the way on side. So the beam is a little low to use all the beam to shot out to 250 yards, but for out to 200 it's spot on. You got to have the light in total darkness to see anything. I'm amazed at the light the mini spectrum draws in. When i first tested the light quite a while after sun set,I was still watching deer at 200 yards that i couldn't see with naked eye. Turned the light on but nothing changed until i figured out the light cap was still over the lens. Removed it and it was like you turned on the stadium lights on a football field. Wow. Great light but heavy and expensive. I tried the cheaper light first, no good out past 50 yards. You need the dimmer switch, the spot light and a good mount for the light to work effectively. For total darkness thermal for me but love the mini spectrum for early, late and daylight use, you can't beat it. And it's in full color. I'd probably go with the 40 if i had to do it all over, the one Jason suggested. Call up the staff at Outdoor legacy they will steer you in the right direction. Great staff and fast shipping.
