The AGM Taipan V2 Thermal Monocular series is the newest addition to what is already the most extensive thermal product assortment in the world! The Seeker series boasts multiple germanium lens sizes which are paired with an industry-leading 384 resolution 12 micron, sub-20mK thermal detector. New features include utilizing a removable, non-proprietary 18650 rechargeable battery, a new sub-20mK thermal sensor and a new 90 degree tilt sensor which powers off the display to save battery life!
The Taipan V2 also comes packed with multiple software improvements, and many features that have become commonplace within the AGM thermal product assortment: F1.0 aperture optics, 50Hz refresh rate, 16GB of built-in memory, Wi-Fi compatibility to pair with the AGM Connect App, an IP67 waterproof rating, USB Type-C port for external power capabilities and 4 color palettes. They also utilize a wider rubber eyepiece to make viewing the 1024 OLED display extremely comfortable in the field when viewing for long periods of time in a single session. The Seekers are built for well-rounded use and would work great for hunting, farming/herd protection, boating, camping and other general outdoors activities. And of course, all Seeker models will come with AGM’s 5 year warranty.
called back in early december 2024, talked to jason about what i was using ( a 9mm 256 that plugs into a phone and it had a focus for front lens) gave good images nice crisp for the most part, after a year i was looking for more, and read and watched videos for a year while saving money for a better quality thermal, asked jason if i would get a much better quality picture by going with this monocular, he said yes, a lot better, called back about two weeks later and talked to jason again asked a few more questions, bought it and got it on december 21st, the image was just awesome compared to my 256 phone type, i’m super happy with this scope, better than i could have hoped for, thanks to jason and all the others at OL with your help picking the right monocular for me, again thanks ken.
Just received the Taipan V2 last week and finally got to take it out the other night. I really like it so far. The 2x power was what I was wanting for scanning. I have a Burris that is a great monocular but the 3.5 power is not as good for scanning because of the wider field of view. The Taipan is really clear. I called in a Bobcat (which I didn’t take because it isn’t legal here at night) and was easily able to identity at 150 yards. Overall I’m really pleased with it. Good clarity and external battery seems to last good. I used it several hours and still was only down one bar. I highly recommend it.
Truly great thermal for the price
