This scope is all I was hoping for and then some. First impression upon opening the box was Wow! AGM took great care in packaging the scope. Supplied a nice case for the scope and was hard boxed very well. The scope feels like a quality scope very well made. Imaging on the scope at night is awesome. Can easily ID targets way out to 250-300yds. Works really well for me at 75-125yds. Got it easily sighted in to 100yds with 4rds. It's mounted on a 22-250 which shoots like a laser. As for the battery life. It lasted a week after being fully charged, and I was showing it off to everyone and just playing with it at the property. I am very pleased with AGM and Outdoor Legacy. Great group of people that will take the time to help you get the correct optic for your needs.
Like most of us here, I did a lot of research, watching all the videos and trying to put my hands & eyes on one, which is next to impossible. Went to some big retailers and tried other brands and all with lower resolution. Their images looked like block shaped trees and animals cut out of white construction paper and glued to black construction paper... Not what I was expecting at all for that price point ($2k.) Yes, they're all expensive. Even cheaper inferior ones. But as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. After looking for months, I emailed Jason and talked with Hans for a bit, we decided that the AGM Adder TS50-384 was what I needed. Ordered on a Thursday and got it Monday. Very fast processing and shipping. Everyone that I talked to were very polite and knowledgeable. Top notch service. And this scope, WOW!!! The clarity is awesome. Once focused to your liking. Critters can't hide and you can ID them for sure with the 384 resolution out to 250-300 yds. It will detect past that distance easily too. Got it sighted in with 4 shots easily. Tried Hans' technique with cardboard and foil type duct tape and now I have a tac driver for the dark. Anyway, very pleased with AGM. Did not disappoint me, I would buy this scope again in a second, and will be getting another AGM thermal for closer conditions in the near future.
Probably like so many guys before me reading all the reviews. As far as some of the tricks in regards to zeroing. What Works well for me is to get a box and steal your wife's hair dryer and point it Into the box. If you're out in the field I just use food warmers. In regards to bumping the dial on the side of the scope And changing your settings. Just tap the power button and it will go right to sleep Without disturbing your settings. Great picture quality. Recoil activated video works great on an air rifle Easily identify rabbits out to a 150 yd. Without much trouble. Can see mice and rats 75 yd Without much trouble.
You can Focus in on your shoelaces if you choose to. When I'm out hunting, I never touch the zoom. The 4 base magnification works great. If you don't plan on shooting Over a hundred yards the ts35 would probably work well for you Hunting small game. I hate to say it but getting A Spotter makes it so much easier while hunting. Mt15 Has worked well for me over the Last year. Probably the only complaint I would have would be to have more Radical options
Had a great time learning the technology
I’ve been hunting with a night vision scope with red & green lights and while this setup works my gut told me thermal was the way to go. I set out to find local dealers in my area so I could do a 1st hand comparison however, that proved impossible only one retailer had a thermal. Then it was an internet research project into thermal optics to determine what would work best for my hunting application. The following is a list of things I needed from the scope. 1) price 2) warranty 3) 3-4x base magnification 4) resolution and 5) battery life.
For my hunting application I wanted a scope I could ID and make shots at 300 yds. My flat shooting varmit rifle, a model 700 Remington chambered in a .204 Ruger sitting on a tripod deserves a good scope. The .204 makes quick work of targets to 300 with ease and shoots like a laser with 2” of bullet drop @ 300.
After several hours of internet search and videos about thermal scopes I chose the AGM Adder TS50-384. The team at Outdoor Legacy had several AGM videos comparing different scopes and a few side by side comparisons of different models. Scope performance of the TS50-384 and base magnification was the top 2 deciding factors in my choice of AGM scopes.
My AGM Adder arrived; I sighted in to 300 yds. with 4 shots and 5 to confirm. I’m sure I could have sighted in with fewer shots if I were more tech savvy however; I was pleased seeing it was my 1st thermal experience. I used the Adder the 1st night for a few hours out back on a corn field just to get some time with the scope, I knew we didn’t have any yotes around the house.
The 1st night out about 7:15 a yote came in to my caller however; he didn’t pause long enough for me to get a shot. About 20-30 minutes later a 2nd yote came in about 150 yds out, and he never left.
I couldn’t be happier with my AGM Adder the clarity to ID and detect are outstanding and I couldn’t be more pleased with the help and customer service I have received from the team at Outdoor Legacy. If you want a badass thermal for yotes the AGM Adder fills the bill.
